Here's the gift we gave Mom for her birthday - don't panic, she actually asked for this! We decorated a box we had (a nice one, too) with papers from the retired Sweet Stitches DSP. I added text made from the Naturally Serif Alphabet die, and a daisy made with the Daisies #2 die. We put lots of little compartments filled with sewing goodies inside.

I couldn't have an October class without doing SOMETHING Hallowe'en, could I? I combined a few different ideas I've seen around to turn these altered Mini Milk Carton boxes into a fun pumpkin favor for my class ladies, and filled them with treats smuggled from my frozen stash for the big night! These were so much fun to make! Here is the "recipe" sheet on the Shadow Box project as well. Enjoy! Tangerine Tango and Pear Pizzazz CS; Mini Milk Carton die; Broadsheet Alphabet and Gently Falling stamp sets; Large and Extra Large Tag punches, 1" and 1 1/4" Circle punches; self-adhesive rhinestones; Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding ribbon. OK, I'm totally psyched. Lisa (you wild woman, you!) requested a shadow box class, and today I totally went crazy designing samples for next week. Here's one, I had to make myself stop at two samples, before I used up all my boxes! I'll post the other sample later, but I hope everyone can make it, and bring a friend - this is going to be so much fun! My upline Julie sweet-talked me into joining my first swap, put together by our group DemoDivas mom, Gloria. Can I say how weird it is for me to have so many automatic "sisters-in-stampin'" to play with?! Anyway, this is my first stampin' swap ever - and I feel pretty paranoid about it. We were supposed to use the new Holiday Stocking die, with at least two embellishments. And stuff it with something good! I was really stumped for a while on what to do for something different, when I found some really cute ice skate ornaments in the Napa Style catalog. The Christmas light came on! I have filled my stockings with a little pouch of "kettle spices," and two paper candies, a candy cane and a wrapped hard candy. The cane and the holly leaves are from the accompanying Stocking Accents die in the Holiday Mini. I just shipped off my box o' goodies today! Holiday Stocking and Stocking Accents dies, Cherry Cobble, Whisper White and Pear Pizzazz CS, Early Espresso Baker's Twine and ink, sentiment from Bells & Boughs stamp set, candy from Sweets for the Sweet. Key Tag and Decorative Label punches. Here's yet another purse set based on Becky Roberts' Purse-onally Yours tutorial. I had some retired DSP and colors that I've been reluctant to part with for long enough, and they paired beautifully with the new Perfectly Penned stamp set - yay! Urban Garden DSP (retired), Kiwi Kiss (retired), Basic Gray, Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze CS and inks, Perfectly Penned and Oval All stamp sets. I love love love making Inking Idaho's Becky Roberts' designs in all kinds of crazy colors! I just can't seem to get enough - here are a couple of Purse-onally Perfect sets in Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. I think I'm going to have to make more of these for the Mt. View show - I have plenty of the paper! Finally, a good use for my retired stocks! Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo CS, matching inks, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP (retired), Oval All and Perfect Punches stamp sets. Here's a quick picture of the gifts I made for my card class ladies - I don't remember how I ever lived without my Simply Scored tool now! These medallions were inspired by the wreath shown in the new Holiday Mini - I decided to make singles that can be hung on a cabinet knob or door handle. Cute, huh? I won't lie, tiny little pain til I pulled out the hot glue gun, then they ran on rails! Anyway, here are the card instructions from Wednesday's class - enjoy! Autumn Spice DSP, Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler CS, Chocolate Chip Ink, Wonderful Words stamp set, self-adhesive rhinestone accents, Early Espresso 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon. Well, I found another package of some self-adhesive wafer-thin magnets I found somewhere sometime ago, and decide to crank out a few more flower magnets for an awesome craft show I just found I got in to for November. I decided to use the tall galvanized buckets I picked up ages ago for some party or other s0 I figure I'll do a couple of "flower towers" to make my table look cheery! These are so fun, and easy to make - they really satisfy my love of color habit... Bigz L Fun Flowers Big Shot Die, various retired DSP papers, SU! button accents, and tags from Tiny Tags stamp set. |
